Recycling and rubbish

Information about recycling, rubbish collection, landfill hours and charges and more. The kerbside collection includes a wider range of recycled materials which fits the Dunedin City Council (DCC) sustainable practice initiative as less waste is going to landfills and recyclable materials remain as a resource.

LIMS

A Land Information Memorandum (LIM) contains information drawn from Council records relating to a specific property.

Building services

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) is an accredited Building Consent Authority (BCA). A BCA is responsible for performing certain building control functions under the Building Act, such as processing and issuing building consents, inspecting and certifying that completed building work is compliant and issuing notices to fix and compliance schedules.

Stormwater

Stormwater is rain or snow runoff that does not soak into the soil. When an area is developed, stormwater generally increases due to runoff from impermeable surfaces (e.g. roofs, roads, carparks, or compacted soil).

Wastewater

Dunedin's seven wastewater treatment plants service communities ranging in size from 100 to 83,000.

Water supply

We manage Dunedin’s water supply system, from source to tap. We collect, supply, treat and distribute water to residents and businesses in Dunedin and outlying areas.

Rental housing issues

We are often asked to visit and assess possible sub-standard housing conditions. Most complaints are about rental housing so this information will provide both landlords and tenants with a guide to some basic standards for rental housing.
