Waste minimisation and education

This page features Councils Waste Minimisation and Management Plan (WMMP) 2020, adopted in June 2020. To keep pace with changes in the creation, reuse and/or disposal of waste, we review the WMMP at least every six years. The plan provides the direction for waste minimisation to be achieved.

Information on Waste minimisation grants available and how to apply. These are awarded for community and commercial organisations whose applications meet the guidance of the WMMP and are agreed to, by the Council Grants Sub-committee.

The Community household waste minimisation section provides an overview of particular waste minimisation campaign education and local, existing learning opportunities.

The Business waste minimisation section provides an overview of particular industry and general business waste minimisation activity and education, including some case studies.
