The WW Drums Melter is a system for melting bitumen stored in barrels. It has a capacity of 24 barrels and can melt bitumen at a rate of 4,500 kg/h. Hot oil circulates through serpentine pipes in the melter's tank to heat and discharge the bitumen from the barrels into a 10 m3 service reservoir. Key components include a steel tank insulated with rock wool, hydraulics for loading and moving barrels, and equipment to circulate hot oil and transfer melted bitumen.
