The OpenDataXchange is a framework made to facilitate a practice-based exchange of knowledge, skills, and ideas among all open data stakeholders in the EU. It aims to create opportunities to build and share capacities, to exchange experience for individuals and organizations, contributing to more effective open data resource distribution within the EU while facilitating the development of European projects. OpenDataXchange seeks to enable cross border collaboration in Europe both virtually and physically through a coordinated and coherent exchange environment. including Promotion A showcase gallery that allows the discovery of European projects through online exposure A directory that allows individuals to promote their individual skills, organisations to showcase their work and request help. Brokerage to enable sharing and exchange of skills and opportunities Transnational Exchange Placements in open data programmes in fellow European country to promote the bi-directional exchange of skills, creating potential adaption and transfer of projects, and enhanced open data network development Call to reuse Regular thematic calls to solve an issue at a european level and have local organizations coproduce solutions. Example: Corruption, Environment... Annual Event The annual event acts as a place for the community to network, showcase projects and also build skills through workshops and as an opportunity to meet the entire community in one place OpenDataXchange should be led by an independent European level consortium that is representative of the broader European open data community. This framework aims to contribute to strengthening open data community in the EU and build its capacity to promote, release and reuse public sector information. By promoting mobility within the EU open data community, it will contribute to the development of more impactful open data programmes.
