Aquiz night will be held at CBK Craft<br />
Bar, Hilton Street, Kaiapoi, to raise<br />
funds for the Waimakariri Sailing Club.<br />
The evening starts at 7pm on Monday,<br />
<strong>July</strong> 21, with six people maximum per<br />
team/table, at $10 per person or $60 a<br />
table. Spot prizes, raffles, food and drink<br />

Pest Trapping workshop<br />
Aworkshop will be held on <strong>July</strong> 27 for<br />
trappers, and people keen to get<br />
involved, to learn more about effective<br />
trapping methods and technology, and<br />
monitoring outcomes.They will discuss<br />
practical ways of working together, such<br />
as collating data using Trap NZ, and<br />
strategies to rid Hurunui of pests that<br />
threaten the natural environment.<br />
Speakers include Richard Shaw of<br />
Blythe Valley Catchment Group and Sue<br />
Sinclair of Birdsong Trust Restoration<br />
Project. Shaun Ryan of 2040 Ltd will also<br />
be there to demonstrate AI thermal<br />
cameras and automated birdmonitoring.<br />

Rangiora Museum<br />
David Laird, asustainable woodworker<br />
and qualified carpenter who creates<br />
furniture from end of life trees will give<br />
apresentation at the Rangiora Museum<br />
on Sunday, <strong>July</strong> 27. He specialises in<br />
transforming Elm and Oak trees, using<br />
traditional knowledge about milling,<br />
seasoning and steam bending timber,<br />
when combined with some modern<br />
methods. There will be samples of his<br />
work on display and the talk will be<br />
illustrated with photos by David Petrie.<br />
All welcome at the museum, 29 Good<br />
Street, behind the Bowling Club, at 2pm.<br />
No need to book. Free, although<br />
donations appreciated from nonmembers<br />
of the Rangiora Early Records<br />
Society. Afternoon tea served along with<br />
our community chat. The Museum is<br />
open Wednesdays and Sundays, 1.30 to<br />
