🚆 Simulation station 👨✈️ City Rail Link opening next year means more trains, more often. There will be more frequent trains to stations on the Southern, Eastern and Western lines after opening. To drive these extra trains our rail operator, Auckland One Rail, has hired a bunch of new train drivers and is busy bringing them up to speed. This is done with a very cool piece of kit – a train driving simulator. This cutting-edge training tool lets drivers get hands-on with Auckland’s City Rail Link’s underground stations, platforms, curves and gradients long before they head out to practice on the real thing. It’s not just for newbies, experienced existing drivers are leveling up, too. 🎥 Watch the video with AOR’s CRL Ops Trainer to see how we’re preparing our team for the future of rail in Auckland. #CityRailLink #CRL2026 #TrainDriverSimulator #BehindTheScenes #AucklandTransport #FutureReady Auckland One Rail

Ever heard of a rain garden? 🌱 They’re a clever piece of green infrastructure being built into the Eastern Busway project. Auckland Transport isn't just delivering a transport project to give people more options for quicker, easier, safer journeys - we're helping improve water quality. Planted along the sides of the busway, these rain gardens serve as more than just decoration. Beneath the surface, in-ground treatment systems help to filter out nasties like heavy metals, hydrocarbons, and tyre wear particles, helping to improve the quality of water discharged into nearby waterways. The Eastern Busway is part of our expanding rapid transit network, connecting Botany and Pakuranga with rail. It will also help ease congestion with Rā Hihi - the flyover built above Reeves Road and across Ti Rakau Drive.
