LinkedIn is a platform for professional outreach and networking. I focus on sharing insights, experiences, and engaging in meaningful conversations related to my field. Requests for personal details fall outside the purpose of this space and, as such, do not require a response. I appreciate respectful, career-focused interactions.

You don’t owe the internet your soul. Curiosity doesn’t equal access. Connection doesn’t require oversharing. People follow you because of the signal you send. The second you start giving away every piece of yourself, you lose the edge that made you magnetic in the first place. I share with intention, not emotion. I decide what gets shown, what gets hinted at, and what stays sacred. You want to build trust without leaking your identity all over the algorithm? Keep your presence real, your message loud, and your personal boundaries solid. Respect creates mystery. Mystery builds brand. Let them wonder. Let them ask. But never let them control the line.

Decide how personal you really want to be. And add layers. Eg. being honest about a topic that is connected to your professional/business POV can already be a lot more emotional and create proximity instead of being too much sales/marketing driven. Sharing personal experiences, thoughts, inspiration connected to your business „personality“ is my favorite way. Highly personal info from we wearing some of my other „hats“ as a friend, wife, lover, parent, … is out of the context - and out of the game.

share insights, not every detail Curiosity is welcome—boundaries are essential Privacy supports clarity and focus Not everything personal is relevant

I personally share what I feel comfortable with. I also feel that certain aspects of my life remain personal not just for myself but for the ones close to me. Some say the more you share the more authentic and relatable you are but I disagree. I believe you can be authentic and relatable without sharing every aspect of your life.

When followers ask for personal details, it’s important to set clear boundaries with respect and authenticity. You can acknowledge their curiosity while protecting your privacy by saying something like, “I appreciate your interest, but I prefer to keep certain parts of my life private.” Share what feels right to you—nothing more, nothing less. Remember, being open doesn’t mean being vulnerable in ways that make you uncomfortable. You can stay real and relatable without oversharing. Setting limits shows self-respect and helps build a healthy relationship with your audience based on mutual trust and understanding.

If LinkedIn followers ask for personal details, I handle it politely and professionally. I let them know I prefer to keep personal information private and keep the conversation focused on professional topics.

When it comes to sharing personal details with my followers, I follow a mindful, purpose-driven approach. I ask myself: Does this add value? Does it inspire, educate, or connect in a meaningful way? I choose to share personal moments when they reflect a broader message—like growth through challenges, the joy of achievements, or lessons learned from experiences. Whether it’s a professional milestone, a travel experience, or a quiet reflection, I keep it authentic yet respectful of my own boundaries.
